Puerto Morelos - Mexico Near Cancún |

Here are a few trip reports submitted by
some of our clients. |

| G&S - Sept 2008 |
 |
For any who are not familiar with the
Timeshare issues at Desire and other Blue Bay resorts, beware of strong arm
sales tactics and recent developments between Blue Bay resorts and RCI.
(Castaways Note: "Blue Bay" resorts include such properties a Desire Cancun,
Desire Cabo and Temptation-Cancun. RCI is one of the largest world wide time
share companies in the world).
My wife and I are members of Premier by
Original Resorts of which the Blue Bay resorts in Cancun and Los Cabos are part
of. We visit Desire in Cancun annually and have had excellent service and
accommodations each time. The downside is the timeshare sales tactics they use
on first time guests. My wife and I went for this and very much regret doing
it.
Blue Bay affiliates themselves with RCI to use the massive amount
of points you buy in this timeshare program. It does work fairly well but there
are quite a few gotchas, much like many of the credit card and airlines point
systems. Except recently. RCI has just restricted use of Blue Bay points to
60,000 per year. You can't even get an international flight for that amount of
points.
Everyone should be very careful when approached and stay off
the booze if you choose to listen to their spiel. If you are at Desire, just
walk out the door, find an (RCI) member and ask them to sit in with you. LOL.
If you want to see more information, go to
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/rci.html and read the
numerous stories. |

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our
trip to Desire-Cancun.
The resort was immaculate, the food was very
good, the service everywhere was excellent especially the waiters. We have been
to Jamaica 3 times in the past, and will definitely not be returning
there.
Everything at Desire is much better than Jamaica. The people
were much more friendly in Mexico and the atmosphere more upbeat and definitely
more sexually charged!
There were a couple of incidents in the jacuzzi
which should have taken place in bed, so we decided not to hop in.
"Theme Nights" were fun, and we dressed up for a couple of those. Had clothes
for every night, but decided we didn't want to spend every night in the disco,
it was a bit crowded and sometimes pretty warm.
The couples sensual
massage was unbelievable! The "happy ending" seemed to go on and on, which is
unusual for me. It was well worth the $260 + tip!
The only complaint
we have is that they ask you to have breakfast with a representative to show
you around and fill you in on their "frequent user" program, which after
spending 30 minutes with the girl, turned out to be a timeshare. Definitely not
interested in putting up $10,000-$40,000 for that!
When we respecfully
declined, she called someone else over to explain things better (like we were
stupid). We fully understood the program and were simply not interested. We
enjoyed being nude for the 5 days we were there, and defnitely will schedule
our next vacation to Desire for at least a 7 night stay. |

We thoroughly enjoyed our 1st visit to
Desire Riviera Maya. We found that it exceeded our expectations. The resort is
kept spotless, the rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The
staff is hard working, very friendly and the service is impeccable.
The quality and choice of the food at all the restaurants is well above
average. The quality of the drinks as well as the bar service is excellent. The
overall atmosphere at the resort is sensual and not raunchy. While daytime is
quieter, there are many games to participate in by the entertainment staff.
Many people spend the day relaxing on the beach beds or comfortable lounges
around the pool. It doesn't have the energy of the Hedonism Resorts but there
is plenty of opportunity to socialize in the pool, hot tub and at the many bars
on property, where there never seems to be a wait to get served.
At
night, after dinner & before disco, there is nice entertainment at the
lobby bar. Comfortable couches & beds are available for relaxing,
socializing and listening to the music under the stars. The Disco is fun. There
is a contest each night, good dance music, 3 Poles to play on, and plenty of
seating.
In a nutshell, yes it is possible to combine nudity,
sensuality and 1st class treatment...and its called Desire! |

We had a relaxing vacation for the most
part. All of the employees of Desire Cancun were very nice with one exception.
The young man running tours out of the towel desk drew our ire. I think he must
work for the tour providers rather than the Hotel. We liked the
facilities there and the layout of Desire. The drinks were OK, but they had no
idea of what a Humming Bird drink is and many others found at the Hedos in
Jamaica. The beach was fantastic. The beds on the beach had to be reserved, but
we didn't have a problem getting one every day. The pool was not used much. The
reason is that it is 5 feet deep all around except for the separate "baby" pool
which was maybe 2 feet deep. So, most of the daily activities took place around
the pool or on the beach. (No water volley ball, but they had sand beach volley
ball). No swim up bar in the pool, but you didn't have to walk too far to get a
decent drink. There was a bar on the beach open till about 4 pm. By 5 pm most
of the beach was empty. We had to wear a band on either our wrist or ankle to
identify us as a guest of the hotel (all you can eat and drink). The reason for
this was that it is a public beach. People from other resorts walked on the
beach in front of Desire. The hot tub on the roof (many steps) was nice and
that seems to be the place where all the adult activity happens. It does have a
bar accessible from the hot tub. Our room was very nice. One bad
thing about our room was mosquitoes. We kept getting bitten in the room. I had
to swat mosquitoes every day even though I saw them fogging the shrubs outside
of the villas a few times while we were there. The evening entertainment ranged
from good to adequate. The young woman at the front desk was very nice. Her
name was Renata. One of the evenings we saw her done up in body paint and my
wife said she wanted to do it, too. So, she took off her top and let the artist
paint her. He was really good. It was a pretty good vacation, but the wife
prefers Jamaica. |

This would have been our second trip to
Desire. We were only able to spend one night as we had a death in the family
and we had to return home. We did eat at the Japanese restaurant and it was
excellent as it had been last year. We hope to go back next year to both
places. |

I had doubts about this place before we
went, not sure that it would be our cup of tea.
James & I had been
to a lot of nude beaches and resorts like Grand Lido Braco and Negril, but
never to any place with a strong "lifestyle" type of setup.
However,
when we got there we found that most everybody was very friendly and accepted
us just the way we were.
Having been to some very fine resorts in the
past, I wasn't expecting much in the way of rooms, food and the resort in
general. While Desire is no Grand Lido, we were very pleased with what it was.
The atmosphere was perfect for a smaller resort, the food more than adequate
(despite the Italian being closed) and rooms were EXCELLENT.
I'm sure
that I surprised James quite a bit as I "loosened" up a lot more than I ever
thought possible during the week. Let's just say that we experienced some
"activities" that we hadn't before, and built a few new very intimate
relationships. Our new motto is (to borrow a phrase), "What happens in Mexico,
stays in Mexico"
We're already planning a return trip next Winter, and
it can't get here fast enough. |

A report of our trip to Desire December 1
thru 9, 2007 Upon arrival it was easy to find our connections to Desire
from the airport. The directions you supplied were super. Everything went very
smoothly. We got in early, before the rooms were ready, but they were ready for
us anyway with a cold towel and a glass of champaign.
The resort was
beautiful and really came back from the hurricane and looks better than ever.
There are more palapas and the beach looks more crowded than before, but Memo
had no trouble getting drinks to everyone in a timely fashion.
Theme
nights were fun, but not enough guys participating. Need more guys to
participate to make it more fun. The playroom did have its busy times also and
it is more enjoyable with that many people involved.
The hot tub
temperature seems to vary too much, and it still was a full crowd most of the
time, but the beds had too many people sleeping on them too much of the
time, but people got around those small problems.
The ONLY real negative
we could find is that the Italian reataurant was never open the entire week, it
was also like that the last time we were there. Please go back to the Mexican
reataurant theme and keep it open. The International reataurant was outstanding
as usual with the service top notch.
All in all a great week and we
will be back. |

We were first timers to this type of resort
and really had no idea what to expect. We originally booked only 4 days at
Desire and an additional 2 days at another property just in case we were not
comfortable at Desire. We cancelled our 2 days at the other place and extended
at Desire.
WOW!
While we are not lifestylers we
really enjoyed the openness and found the hot tub area very exciting. We met
some very fun couples and enjoyed dining and taking a day trip together.
We never once felt uncomfortable. The staff was very attentive. The
grounds were always neat and clean and our room was quite adequate. We had read
other comments that said the rooms were unimportant as most people spent little
time in them. I would agree that we were seldom in our room but it was not
because the room was in any way substandard. We just enjoyed being outside on
the beds or in the pool.
We ate all but one meal at Desire and only
one of those meals was a disappointment. We misunderstood the menu at
Sukis and thought the only full meal service was available at the hibachi
grill. Our meal there was somewhat dis-jointed as the chef was trying to cover
two grills at one time and he was really having to shuttle between the kitchen
two grills at once. The service and food suffered as a result. We later learned
a full menu is offered at the non-grill tables as well and many folks told us
they had very good meals there. Breakfast was good with a generous selection of
items. Lunch was good as well with enough variation each day to offer something
different every day. Dinner was filling and I never felt like I didnt get
my moneys worth.
We visited the disco on a couple of occasions
but we had not fully understood the theme concept. Now that we have
seen it, we will pack clothing that is more appropriate on our next visit.
Speaking of packing we took way more clothing than we needed. I found that I
needed a single pair of shorts to wear to and from the pool and for lunch.
Otherwise I was naked all day. My wife was the same way. She used a cover up to
go to and from and at lunch and that was about it. I wore slacks and a polo
shirt for dinner and my wife wore a dress. As the days went on she realized she
should have packed short, short dresses but well know better
next time.
We did a couples massage but I later learned they have a
couples massage that is very much different than the one we had.
Once again we were new and had to listen and watch others to learn what lots of
repeat visitors already knew. I saw signs cautioning about sexual
displays and again being new we were pretty timid during our first visit to the
hot tub. Once we figured out that the sex police dont jump out and say
stop that we had lots of fun. It took seeing another couple having
sex on the bench at the fire pits behind the hot tub to convince us that we too
could play.
My wife was originally neutral about our trip mostly
because neither one of us could quite picture what we were about to get into.
We both worried that we would be embarrassed if someone made advances to one or
both of us because we were not planning on sharing. By the second
day my wife was saying how much fun she was having and how comfortable she was.
We talked to couples who were there to share and while our plans
did not change we at least understood the attraction. We both decided that we
had some of the hottest sex we have ever had while at Desire.
We
enjoyed ourselves immensely and met some folks we are already planning to meet
at Desire Cancun. |

Desire (Cancun) August 2007 was even better
than we expected and we expected a lot based on friends' experiences. The Staff
was excellent: very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed all the restaurants
and all the food-it was served in a timely manner with no feeling of being
rushed during our dining events and it was always delicious. The international
restaurant was freezing cold (an air conditioning malfunction?) which prevented
us from returning there during our stay as we had not packed warm enough
sweaters and wearing a table cloth as some had to do was not an option we
chose. Hopefully that has been corrected by now.
The rooms are
beautiful as is the whole resort and we look forward to returning without any
hesitation. We enjoyed the evening entertainment which was first class but did
not care for the "disco" as the music was too loud and of the hip-hop genre.
This is a place we would recommend as a great honeymoon destination as we found
it to be a very romantic setting and yet travelling there with a group of
friends is just as fun. |

This was out third trip to Desire but first
since it was rebuilt after the hurricane. The resort did an incredible job not
only restoring its original beauty - they made it better!
Cancun
airport has seriously improved over the past four years. Getting into the
airport, through customs, and into our transportation was faster than it ever
was. Our ocean front suite was ready on arrival. The palapas on the beach are a
perfect compliment and a terrific place to nap when the sun goes down. Service
was as it has always been - first rate. The food in all three restaurants was
very good. The one complaint we have is the absence of Mexican food. We prefer
to eat Mexican food when in Mexico. The other complaint is lunch. It's very hot
in June and it would be nice to be able to have lunch inside. Besides, there
simply is insufficient seating at the grill at lunchtime. Oh, one more
criticism and I'm working hard to find any - tequila. One would expect a
Mexican resort to offer a variety of fine tequila. Desire does not. So, the
quality of the mnargarita is below what it should be.
We absolutely
enjoyed our vacation and will return to Desire. What a terrific place to spend
a week!
Thanks James and gang. |

For the second time in the past 3 years, my
wife & I visited Desire Resort and Hidden Beach Resort on the same trip
booked thru Castaways Travel. Both are very fine resorts but we have concluded
that we prefer Desire over Hidden Beach.
We are not swingers but have
found we are still very comfortable at Desire and enjoy the "upscale"
atmosphere and ambiance. We enjoy our personal, quiet times there as well as
the more wild & crazy times. For those who are concerned, a polite "no
thanks" is very well accepted. Desire has more choices of restaurants right at
the resort as opposed to Hidden Beach which has one and you must take a short
walk to the El Dorado resort next door for more variety. Clothing is required
in the restaurants at Desire and, of course, at El Dorado but reservations were
required at all of the restaurants at El Dorado and were not necessary at
Desire. Desire has some great bars, including the infamous roof-top jacuzzi bar
and the lobby bar that is open 24 hours.
We believe that Hidden Beach,
with its much more laid-back ambiance and its adherence to nudist principles,
would do well to have a bar, other than the pool bar, where people could gather
around and be sociable at night. The upstairs disco bar just doesn't cut it for
socializing. Several times, we were the only ones up there. People seem to
retire early there. Service was excellant at both places and and the rooms at
Hidden Beach are slightly better than at Desire.
We have concluded,
considering the substantial cost difference, that we will just stay at Desire
for the full time on our next trip. For the record, we are 60ish. T &

| Leon & Alice - September 2006 |
 |
My wife and I went to Desire for our 7th
anniversary back in September 2006. We have been to several other more
expensive resorts and are convinced that Desire is the best bargain anywhere
w/i Mexico or the Caribbean. We stayed for 7 days and loved every minute of it.
The resort was spotless, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was
incredible, and best of all, the other guests were great.
We started
off the first few days just relaxing with each other. We usually went to the
beach in the morning then hit the pool area in the afternoons. My wife who
never played volleyball one day I her life looked forward to the daily nude
volleyball games down on the beach. The staff kind of talked her into the first
game on the first day and she had so much fun, she looked forward to it
everyday.
We are early risers (3 young children!) and usually ate early
and went to the pool and the beach befreo it got crowded. We took a lot of
pictures in those early morning hours. They have this surreal earth music
playing at the pool and o the beach in the early hours that was just prefect
for walking down the beach or swimming in the pool. It was the most relaxed I
have been in years.
One word of caution: if you are like us and do not
drink a lot, STAY AWAY from the Tequila Volleyball games in the pool. I joined
in one day, thinking it would be fun. The rule is that if you mess up or lose a
point, the staff squirts a tequila shot into your mouth from a sports bottle.
So I am a nice guy and tried to help the beautiful nude woman who were on my
team as much as possible. If they screwed up I tried hard to save them but
usually ended up making the final tap that earned the other team a point. We
laughed so hard and had such a good time playing. After about 20 minutes and 15
or so errors, I was pretty blitzed. The game ended up about an hour later; me
drunk for the first time in 10 years. The staff there was squeezing that that
squirt bottle pretty hard when they aimed into my mouth. Needless to say, we
did not hit the disco that night as I crashed early.
The
entertainment/recreation staff was great. They were polite, and never pushy.
The service at Desire was perfect; always smiling, always quick, always correct
and super-friendly.
We snorkeled a lot off the beach, went on the Hobie
-Cat several mornings. We saw several public display of affections but expected
more. It was not the wild orgy we had read about and for us, that was fine. We
are more nudists then hedonists but do not mind watching what others do. (Boy
that sounds dirty!) We can watch and have fun!
At about 5PM everyday,
everybody at the resort goes to either their rooms or the roof top Jacuzzi. AT
5PM, the pool is deserted! We went up to the Jacuzzi every afternoon for drinks
and socializing. Zit was a lot of fun up there. We usually went to dinner at
6PM; again the restaurants were deserted at that time. The dinners were great,
cannot say enough about them.
The disco has different themes every
night and is a lot of fun. We visited the playroom several times but there was
not a loot of activity there whenever we checked. There is an interesting mix
of people at Desire and the crowd seems a little younger then other resorts we
have been to. I would say the median age when we were there in September was
40-45. There were maybe a dozen 20 something as well as a dozen seniors.
Everybody though seems friendly and outgoing. Great crowd.
We rented a
car one day and drove to Tulum and went to Gran Cenote. Paid $30 for the car
for the day. (We used the phone book for the rental; they wanted $55 through
guest services.)
Its pretty much a perfect resort. My wife usually does
not like to go to the same place twice since there are so many places to go,
but we will go back to Desire. |
|
|
| Leon & Alice - September 2006 |
 |
From our first visit, Desire has changed a
lot. It is advertised as a Lifestyle Nudist Resort, but more and more clothed
(textile) guests are showing up. Percentage was about 50% for our week in
September 2006. Some were overheard saying "it's gross, tacky", etc... etc...
Lots of first timers or wannabees there. But not lifestylers. We will
most likely not go back there again. Insted we would rather go to Hedo 2 in
Jamaica. We have been there 17 times now and have never been disapointed. Nude
side or prude side... they are seperate and if you don't like getting naked on
the nude side... you are asked to leave.
This is our opinion only...
but you asked. We feel that Desire lured people there from Hedo by making it
sound better (and it was the first few trips like Hedo) bit it's not anymore.
Editors note: As you see... we post all
comments positive and negative. This visitors experience reinforces our mantra
"know before you go". To get the best out of Desire resort (or any resort for
that matter) TALK to us. Most often we can steer you to special weeks, groups
or destinations that will fit your needs. |

|
| B & D - May 2006 |
 |
We met a lot of fun people during the week,
so we really didn't hook up with a specific group. The weather while we were
there was absolutely perfect, sunny and 90 everyday with a nice breeze.
As far as the New Desire is concerned, we liked the new lobby area.
They had a band or some form of entertainment there every night before the
disco opened which was really nice. In the pool area, trees have been replaced
but with very small trees, so the umbrellas are taken pretty early. Not an
issue (for us) but that seemed to be a complaint. The food was pretty good, but
still seemed to run out of choices in a week's time. The late night pizza was
an addition since the last time we were there and that was great to have after
leaving the disco.
The one complaint I had about the room was the odor
from the mattress. It had a somewhat musty smell. It wasn't until late in the
week that we examined it and saw that there was a watermark on the bottom. It
looked like it had been stood up and that there was an inch or two of water in
the room previously. I guess my question would be, did they replace the
mattresses and air conditioning units in the rooms? I have had laryngitis for
over 6 weeks, I got it about mid-week while I was down there. I have had
antibiotics and other medications and I am just now getting over it. Some other
of our friends were there a couple of weeks ago. They said they and two other
couples experienced breathing problems but taking claritin cleared it up for
them. Neither us or our friends complained to Solvina, but I did put it on the
comment card. No one from the resort contacted us about it. |

| Lisa & Ron - June 2005 |

DESIRE is a First class experience from the
food to the service to the accomodations and relaxed atmosphere. There were
plenty of "adult" activities, but all was tastefully presented and indulged in
by anyone willing to experience them. We highly recommend this resort to
couples who like to have fun in a classier upscale laid back environment. Food
and beverages were plentiful and professionally presented, Service was superb!
We never had an empty hand. The music was diverse and tasteful, you could
actually carry on conversations with your "neighbors". As is true at most
places like this, you could do as much as you wanted without feeling undue
pressure from anyone. It is rated by us as a MUST Return visit! |

| Harper M - June 2005 |

We had not traveled to Desire previously,
and had avoided the Hedo resorts, concerned that they would be too much of a
'frat party' scene.
Desire met all of our expectations. All of the
services - Food & Bar, Room, Front Desk, Water Sports and the entertainment
staff - were professionally executed. The food was solid - not fancy or
gourmet, but certainly adequate in all respects. I got a good look at the
kitchen, and was actually impressed with how clean and orderly it appeared. All
of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the air
conditioning in our room and it was attended to very quickly. We had a 'garden
view' room - small and simple, but very clean. The shower did spray the whole
bath but it wasn't really a problem
It is a compact resort - the rooms
are packed together on the beach. There are a few places to find a quiet corner
away form the crowd if you wanted. We knew a Scuba operation in Pureto Morales
that we wanted to dive with, and rented a car at the airport to get around.
While the resort didn't seem to expect you to drive in, it worked out very well
for us.
It's hard to describe the 'vibe' of the place. We were
impressed that the 'entertainment' staff at poolside and the disco managed to
dance the fine line between encouraging participation without being obnoxious
if there just wasn't interest. We didn't want to participate, and found a quiet
corner to enjoy. We were handed a note when we registered with some statement
about prohibiting explicit activity in 'public. I'd guess it's an attempt to
keep all it in the playroom behind the disco. It's clear the resort guests
prefer the hot tub & surrounding beds. We ran into at least one couple that
did not expect the public 'adult' activities - they were surprised and debated
leaving, but later they seemed to have decided to stay at least for a while.
The 'vibe' was like that - a mild encouragement, but certainly no pressure. As
for the mix of couples, it was a very wide variety of interests, ages, and
predispositions.
There was no single large group in the resort at our
visit. I would be wary of visiting if the resort had been taken over by a large
group that I was not involved with - I would be concerned that I would not be
part of the group - not a reflection on the resort.
We will return to
Desire without heistation. |

If a 5 star hotel with snobby bus boys and
crème brulee is what you are after, go somewhere else. If good food (and
lots of it), great facility, fabulous staff, and wild encounters are not your
thing, you neednt waste your time and money going to Desire Resort in
Cancun. If, on the other hand, you love the eclectic in
live erotica and the fun of being naughty kids again, this is THE
one place you absolutely must experience. Frankly, we were a little
anxious when we arrived because we didn't know what to expect. Desire is
marketed as a "Lifestyles" resort. My wife and I are not swingers but we found
out you dont have to be to enjoy Desire and nobody is pushy. In fact, we
met many couples like us who just enjoy the sexy atmosphere that oozes from
every inch of Desire. So go with your lover and just let it be without judging,
gawking (o.k.that may be tough), or being shocked at the lavish lovin you
will experience. The rooms are adequately appointed--some larger than
others, some with better or worse showers, blah, blah, blah, but who gives a
flying flip about that? You won't be sleeping all that much anyway!
Desire is a laid back, relaxed, wild, crazy, sleepy, exciting food, fun and
fk fest you must experience at least once in your life! So get
off the fence, get on the phone, and get your booty booked! I promise, this
oasis in the Mexican Rivera will satisfy your every desire! M.S. Nashville,

Karen and I were at Desire on March 20th
2005. Putting it in simple to understand words "it was awesome". If you wanted
us to find something negative it would be the trip director booked us a diving
trip for Tuesday at 12:30 and never told us the port was closed due to wind and
it was cancelled. We found this out about 12:00 and it was too late to do
anything else that day. Oh well. On the flip side, the resort is beautiful ,
the food far better then I ever expected, the staff unbelievable and the guest
were great, all seeming to have lots of fun day and night. |

Desire and Hedonism II are two entirely
different experiences. Both have pluses and minuses. Where Hedo is (or actually
was until recently) a "camp for adults", party 24/7, Desire is relaxing,
luxurious, romantic, sexy fun with your friends. Overall, Desire is MUCH better
value for your money. Hedo is a good place to go on your own, although you can
also come with friends. Desire is a good place to go with a group or for a
takeover....

| Bob & Cyn - October 2003 |
 |
Cyndi and I just got back from 4 nights at
Desire in Cancun. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very attractive...but
ours and many others leaked a little water when it rained.
The
entrance is constantly flooded so that taxis have to go through very high water
to enter.
The food was below average for an all-inclusive club. Cyndi
ate mostly bread the whole weekend. A lot of it was items we didn't recognize,
or were afraid to eat as we were unsure about the milk and other strange and
unusual things on the buffet.
The night time entertainment was very
slow and the disco was shut down two of the nights due to rain leaking in the
roof on the electrical equipment. Although it was suppose to be a swing
hotel...we saw no evidence of any swinging taking place. People generally were
quiet and stayed to themselves. There were about 15 to 20 couples there.
The beach was beautiful and the gardens were gorgeous. The pools were
beautiful and the drinks were good. The staff was generally non-responsive. We
called two times, for another pillow and another suitcase rack holder.....they
never came. One server, trying to be funny, dropped a plastic roach down my
wife's boobs while she was concentrating on a game of scrabble. There are a lot
of big crabs there, and iguanas, plus she has a serious bug phobia and
literally almost had a heart attack trying to get that off her. Later he was
very apologetic....but it was clearly inappropriate....and when I asked her her
best and worst part of the trip (later)....that was the worst for her, and me.
Taxis are very expensive there but it is the only way to get anywhere.
Every trip will cost about $30 each way. Rental cars are $80 a day. Going
through the airport there is a nightmare....as the traveler is accosted by
sales people all trying to sell something. Land transfers are not included to
Desire....so the visitor must deal with taxi or shuttle people and we felt like
fresh meat being thrown to the wolves. At one point we had 5 people all talking
at us at once. Beware of official looking people in the airport with badges and
ties....trying to lock you into timeshare visits. They'll tell you it is not a
timeshare....but it amounts to the same thing. The Moon Palace is the worst
about pushing this. We visited Xcaret....a fabulous(water)park there and
floated down the underground river. An awesome experience and we highly
recommend it. Again....very expensive both for the tickets ($50 each) and the
ride out there ($50 each way).
We also went to Carlos and Charlie's
bar in Cancun and had a great time. Senior Frog's bar was also good....but C +
C's was more lively. Go around 10 PM.
All in all...we had a great
time. We made our own fun.... If we had relied on staying at Desire and doing
the nightlife there....we, like another couple there, might have gone to bed at
8 PM. For the same money.....Hedo II is probably the better way to go at this
time.
Cancun is a beautiful city. We would return but probably not go
to Desire unless we got a really good deal. Desire, may eventually come into
its own. But....it's not happening there yet.
