| D & C - Sept 2008 |
 |
The weather was perfect.
The Customs entry was
the quickest we have ever had. The hotel was a hop, skip and a jump from there.
We were driven in an air conditioned van. We opted for TransCabo taxi, instead
of any City transportation. Check-in at the hotel was a quick and delightful
experience. The champagne welcome was a hit. We were quickly whisked to our
room on the third floor by a Bellman who gave us some tips on the way. We were
pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and moved right in
We all
unpacked and met up for a drink and a dip in the pool and decided on Suki for
dinner. D was sent back to his room for wearing sandals but returned with shoes
in a moment to join us. We met other couples at dinner while we enjoyed the
Benihana style food preparations. I am sorry to say that the show was better
than the food. I wish I had some seasonings with me to give it some taste.
After dinner we explored the resort and settled in at the Melange bar outside
for a drink. We then gave in to an early night, but that brought on the best
night sleep we have had in a long time
The next morning we headed over
to the buffet restaurant for breakfast. The staff was extremely attentive and
helped us try to master our Spanish. After breakfast we loaded up our beach bag
and headed for the pool. We were very surprised to find a bed poolside at 10
am, we sat down quickly and spread our belongings. (too many trips to Hedo
without finding a place to sit) . We absolutely loved the serene relaxing music
and the assorted colorful butterflies that were flying everywhere. We swam in
the pool and ordered a few Mimosas to further the wonderful experience.
The hotel was only about 20% capacity at any one time due to upset
stomachs from perhaps the food . Once we were well enough to return to the
poolside and talk to the remaining walking wounded, we determined they had a
real crisis on their hands. Of course we were not able to ascertain any one
culprit, but the possibility of the beef and fish came up in most inquires.
Then DUNT DA DA DA! at 11 am exactly the Activities crew came around
to make sure we could keep "them" looking busy with volleyball, bingo, loud
music and generally uncomfortable goings on. EEK! There were only 8 half sick
people out there, how much can they intimidate you to participate in the games.
(I know I'm getting old now) They were great kids but a little too pushy and
loud. Those scheduled antics continued each and everyday until we left for the
hot tub
The hot tub was great and we can imagine how wild it gets when
the hotel is full. Dinner that night was in the Il Piciare (Italian night) We
never got to explore the playroom as the sickness started fairly quickly after
that.
Overall the hotel on all other matters was given an 'A' by the
four of us, and once there is a determination of the source of food sickness
problems we will recommend it. Thanks again for the opportunity to give you an
honest overview of this Beautiful property.

My wife and I visited Desire Los Cabos during June and
had the time of our lives. This was our first visit to a resort of this nature
and we couldnt have been more pleased. There was absolutely no pressure
to participate in any more or less of the activities; either coordinated by the
resort staff or the activities among the guests. The atmosphere at this resort
is incredibly exotic and perfect for a couples getaway. We are looking
forward to a return trip as soon as possible. Breakfast was fabulous, lunch and
dinner where okay. However, following dinner, the evenings spent around the
fire pits were wonderful with music, entertainment, and getting to know other
guests. The weather is perfect with about 2.5 of rainfall annually, most
coming in September. We spoke with others who had been to Desire Cancun and the
most notable difference according to them was no bugs. Los Cabos is
a desert environment and there are no mosquitoes or other bugs for that
matter.
If you are interested in visiting a resort like Desire, I would
highly recommend giving the folks at Desire Los Cabos an opportunity to impress
you.

We had an excellent time. We had a jacuzzi suite right
next to the pool which was great. Not sure if we would do that again for the
money. You don't spend enough time in your room for the extra expense. We only
used the hot tub once otherwise we were upstairs. It was a great time, great
food, nice amenities and I loved not doing anything. The activities around the
pool were good. It got really busy on Friday and we left on Saturday. I'm sure
it was even busier on Saturday. Met really nice people, had a great time and
would go back.

If you gaze at the statue greeting your arrival you
will know that you're not at a Hyatt. It is difficult to describe the vibe at
Desire without using words like erotic, laid back and accomodating. This was
our first "nude" vacation and we have a difficult time imagining a true
vacation with clothes on. We laughed, relaxed and met friends.
The lack
of clothes was really just a way to remove the pretentious feeling that covers
most typical resorts. The rooms were better than fine, the food was truly
impressive, drinks were better than average, grounds were immaculate, and the
evenings were so much fun. All this while the resort was not very full. I can't
tell you kow nice it was to learn to vacation again. We will be back.

| Jerri & Gary - April 2008 |

Let me start by saying we are in our mid 30's &
have been to both H2 & Desire Cancun several times. So its hard not to
compare the resorts. I classify H2 as a wild Frat party, Desire Cancun as a
romantic house party & lastly Desire Cabo as a small expensive boring get
together. Don't get me wrong, we had fun but we had to look for it or create
it!
We started our vaca in Cabo San Lucas @ an all inclusive 'regular'
resort. We saw the Arch, Squid Row, the Zoo, the Office, Cabo Wabo & more.
It was spring break our resort was completely booked (600 rooms), people
drinking & partying everywhere. We went to a beach party with a band, lots
of food & 500 people! We had a terrific time & was aloud to get in the
Ocean/Sea.
Then we headed up to San Hose Del Cabo to Desire, it was at
30% occupancy. The resort is SOOO small, not enough pool lounges & too many
clothing rules to not offend the neighboring resorts. We had fun participating
in the games (ie; Volleyball, Ping Pong, Wet TShirt, pole dancing, theme nights
& so on) & won a couple shirts. The EC's tried but could not get all
the events off. The fire pits where a nice touch & the heated pool was
great. The food was very good, fresh fish daily, nachos & the pasta bar was
to die for. The rooms were clean & good enough for the little time spent in
them, frig & robes came in handy. I recommend the 3rd floor however only
elevator if needed is next to the lobby. We heard every step the people
upstairs took. I saw very little action just light touching & kissing, No
need for the Sex Police here.
We walked into town one day to pickup
some things, we decided from the pace & surroundings it is probably a nice
place to retire. There is a Mega (like Walmart) store not even 1 block from the
resort so you can buy anything you may of forgot without paying the resort gift
shop prices.
Our most favorite part of the trip was the Dune Buggy
excursion www.transcabotours.com it was a total Blast & transfers where
included in the price. We were out for about 3 hours on the Dune Buggies, 2
hours in the desert & sand pit (real cool jumps) & the last hour on the
beach. The guide leads you out & stops @ some historical stuff, than pretty
much lets you play freely. I strongly suggest you buy the $30 insurance offered
on site, the fixes range between $250-3000.00 depending on what breaks. 3
Buggies went out in our group & 2 of them broke, Thankfully not ours but of
course I did buy the insurance.
We met some real nice people & had
great conversations - it was a much needed life break for us. Thanks to
everyone we met, it was a pleasure getting to know you all. As always we
reconnect with each other & have terrific sex. The weather was perfect
85-89 daily & cooled off to 65 at night. We don't see us going back to
Desire Cabo. Jerri & Gary

This was our first time to the Desire Los Cabos (had
been to Desire Riveria Maya in Nov 07). The question we've had, is, "which one
is better?" Not to sound like a politician, but....they both have their pros
and cons. Los Cabos pros are: newer everything...rooms, pool, jacuzzi, beds,
etc. (and who knows ...maybe they aren't newer....but hey, perception is
reality...and everything seemed newer) Cons are: no nude beach, occupancy
seemed down a bit when we went (at Los Cabos), which made for a little more low
key environment...but it still managed to have it's hot moments.
Cancun pro's are: nude beach, greater occupancy (funny how this is a resort you
hope is a little crowded :) con's are: some areas seem a little dated
(bathrooms and the hot tub)...and the notorious sand fleas. Pros for both are:
friendly staff, a nicely naughty atmosphere and the ease of meeting new friends
that we've never encountered at any other resort. Con's: Service at dinner
(both locations) can at times be painfully slow....and as I sit here and try to
think of more general "cons".....I can't....and that (plus all the pro's...is
why we're going back in Nov 08 ! |

We have been to Desire Cabo three times in 2007 and
already booked our next trip in June of 2008. That alone should tell you how
much we love the place. For us it is a short flight from Southern Calif.
On all of our visits the staff was great, attentive and friendly. We
use the airport transportation that is on the resort web site TRANS CABO, it is
$45 each way and you have the van to yourself. They are on time and get you to
the resort in 30 minutes.
The only draw back to Cabo is that you
cannot be nude on the beach. If that is really important then you should try
Desire Cancun they have a great Beach.
Tips. If you want a pool bed
get up early and stake it out. We or should I say me will get up at the crack
of dawn go down collapse on a bed and 3 hours later the wife will come down and
we will go to breakfast.
The resort is more laid back then Cancun but
there is plenty to do, if you want to. There is a pool bar (Cancun does not
have one) were we like to hang and meet people. We have never been there when
we didnât have a great crowd and enjoyed the people we met.
The resort was never full in the three times we were there, two thoughts on
this, one it makes it more intimate and relaxed as most people get to know each
other. Two, not as wild as it could be with a full house, but I am sure it will
fill up as word gets out. When went in Feb. there was about 25 couples we had a
blast, in July there was at least 100 plus couples and we had a blast then as
well.
We have lots of pictures of the resort and are more then happy
to answer any questions if you care to e-mail us. Tahoeroby1@aol.com.
Hope you go soon and I am positive you will enjoy |

We had a great time during our trip to the new Desire
Los Cabos this past July. We have been to Desire Cancun three times so we
wanted to try the new kid on the block and check it out
Another key
reason was to get to see the Cabo San Lucas area, which I've heard so much
about over the years
Our flight took us from home in Indianapolis to
Dallas with a very short delay and on to Los Cabos. We flew through the new
terminal at Dallas and compared to our Dallas experience a few years ago, this
time, they have it down pat.
On our arrival to Los Cabos airport, we
quickly, more or less than in July which in the desert of Los Cabos, was very
hot - so be prepared. Remember, instead of driving into a jungle area which the
Desire Cancun is, this Desire is literally in the middle of a desert area so
the humidity level is lower than at Desire Cancun
READ MORE of this very detailed report. Gary
gives a lot of useful information on the resort and rooms, dining, the guests
and staff, activities, the beach, nearby sightseeing and attractions, and the
nude cruise... |

We had a really wonderful time at Desire Los Cabos. The
resort is very nice. Rooms were nice, shower is not quite the greatest, but it
is very beautiful.
The resort was probably at 40% capacity when we
were there. It was more laid back than Cancun. People weren't quite as playful,
however they were friendly and we met some great people. The staff is awesome,
bartenders need a little work and we did help them out with that. Like most
people, we missed the beach at Cancun. Just not the same as far as beaches go.
Sand is thick and coarse and hard to walk in and of course can't enjoy
sunbathing (nude) on the beach.
I thought the staff was a little more
forward as far as tipping and we don't mind tipping, however in Cancun we never
felt obligated, and that might be a little too strong a word. We did tip the
staff who treated us outstandingly and we really don't mind that at all.
The pool water was too HOT when we arrived by the time we left they
had almost got it right. Hot tub area is nicely done with the firepits and
decorations. Not as much "fun" as Cancun and again I know that probably had
something to do with low occupancy. Overall it was a great trip and really
relaxing.
FISHING was great. Chartered a 26 ft cabin cruiser and
fished just off the beach, caught a variety of fish that were fun catching. No
billfish, however they were fun and we had a great time. We didn't bring our
catch back because we were unsure of customs. Gave them to some staff at resort
already filleted and the were happy to get them!
Great trip. Will we
return to Cabo? If not for anything else, the fishing:)! Thanks for all the
recommendations and help. |

Our flight to Cabo was a breeze just a bit over 4 hours
from Seattle. We knew Desires was only a 15 min ride and getting a cab ride you
have 2 options. Get a 1/2 hour pitch for a condo & a cab for $20 or skip
the sales pitch and pay $50, we paid $50. Check in was a breeze & 20 min.
Later we were in the nude pool with a cold drink! Service here is top flight
all the way, out of the 5 bars one is open 24/7 The pool, hot pool, gym, sauna,
steam room and the grounds are all the best we have seen. The only down side to
this resort is the food, its not bad but for a resort that charges this much
the food could be better and a lot warmer (most buffet items were cool to
almost cold. The rooms are small but are very nice w/king beds, Large shower
& a stocked refer. |
