FLU UPDATE: June 19, 2009 - CDC says Mexico cases appear to be
declining... but take precautions when traveling to Mexico (or anywhere for
that matter)
In its most recent flu
update notice, the CDC provides travelers with common sense
recommendations for traveling to an area reporting H1N1 flu (Swine Flu). Maps
of areas reporting H1N1 outbreaks can be found on the
CDC’s and
World Health Organization's (WHO) Web sites.
The
Center for Disease Control (CDC) has updated its travel notice for H1N1 flu in
Mexico and its general outbreak notice for the United States with a single
notice regarding the global H1N1 flu situation. The notice is on the
CDC's travel Web site. The CDC notes that new cases of H1N1
flu in Mexico and the United States appear to be declining, yet flu reports in
some parts of the Southern Hemisphere, which is now entering its typical flu
season (April – Sept.), are increasing.
