Temptations Resort is an all inclusive adults only full service resort in Cancun, Mexico. Most beach resorts in Cancun attract international guests from countries world wide and Temptations has its share. So, topless sun bathing is frequent and typical on the beaches there. Nudity is not yet accepted on the principle beaches as clothing-optional sunbathing opportunities are not yet the norm for Mexico but we hope they come soon. Temptations is not a nudist resort; it is an adults only property where topless sunbathing is accepted and common. This is a great place for a singles or couples vacation. You can reserve a room with double occupancy or as a single room for privacy. Do not confuse this resort with its other sister resort in Cancun, Blue Bay Club across the bay which is a >family< all inclusive hotel, with reciprocal visitation rights.

U.S. Citizens: Passports are required for international air travel to all destinations outside the USA.

Temptations is located on the beach right in the north hotel zone of Cancun. Temptations Resort's predecessor resort, Playa Blanca, was the first resort structure built in the hotel zone in the late 1970s when Cancun was born. The present resort faces northward toward the Mexican Caribbean. A little aside: the surf is almost non-existent on the north side of the hotel zone and therefore, no pounding waves which tends to spawn patches of seaweed. Don't expect a pure perfect, endless stretch of white beach as parts of the sandy bottom is prone to seaweed colonies. This is not a big deal, just a bit of trivia....there's still plenty of sand to sink your toes in.

Cancun International Airport is served by airlines world-wide, offering convenient and frequent service. Temptations is about 30 minutes from the airport so you can take a taxi, a shuttle transfer or rent a car to see the area. The distance is only about 15 miles and much of the drive is through town. A big plus is you don't have to spend much time transferring to the hotel from the airport.

NOTE: Please take care of your valuables, cash, airline tickets and passports while on vacation. Some vacation destinations are considered "third world" countries and experience petty theft. Recommendation: Do not take precious jewelry unless you wear it all times; keep your cash, valuables, watches, travel documentation and cameras safe or carry them with you. Just a word of caution to make sure you remember to practice common sense with your valuables while you're on vacation.

The resort is full service, all inclusive, adults only. There are daily activities, nightly entertainment in an open air theatre setting, non-motorized water sports, wind surfing, snorkeling, optional scuba diving, adult games, and of course beaches and 3 swimming pools. The smartest, most fun part of the pool is the four Jacuzzis located at the free form pool's edge, inside the pool; not beside the pool and right near the bar. A nice touch is that introductory scuba diving lessons are provided complimentary before you have to pony up the cash to actually take diving lessons.

Many beaches in Cancun are topless but not nude (yet) ! Other features include free bicycles, 6 restaurants, 5 bars, an exercise room and numerous tours and sight seeing in the area. A fun activity is to sign on for a jet ski ride through the surrounding everglades and beautiful lagoons. Boutiques are on site and shops are next door. Tennis courts are on premises, too.

There are several dining opportunities on site. The first is an Italian dining restaurant, an Oriental themed restaurant, a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a beachside snack bar. Theme dinners at night lend some variety to the evening meal occasion. There are also a steakhouse and a Mexican restaurant on site, too.

Five (5) bars dot the area at the beach, at the pool and near the lobby.

The resort has very affordable tariffs that start at about $70-100/person/night, depending upon room selection. Rooms are clean and brightly decorated with air conditioning, TV, 2 beds or a king size and balcony or patio. You get a great bang for your buck at this property.

Ages range from 20's to 50's with most in the middle. A really good choice for singles as there is lots of activity, lots of people and lots of diversions on site and close by.

The place is very active all the time. The resort is very compact with 387 rooms located throughout the property in several hotel buildings, each two or three stories high. There is a nice open air theatre for evening entertainment and performances. There is no disco on site but there are numerous lounges, boutiques, bistros, restaurants, clubs and shops up and down the boulevard near the hotel.

Most of the social activity is centered around the pool and beach bar area plus the lobby bar near the reception area during the day. Night time, most guests will be busy with dinner and drinks, and then attend the evening's entertainment. When we were there, the hotel was completely full, so there were lots of guests around, not quite crowded but very busy. The beach area is adequate for the guest load but the hotel zone properties are built right next to each other so the beaches run together. There are no wide open spaces on this section of the beach so you may feel slightly crowded, compared to other resorts down the coast such as El Dorado ROYALE or Aventura Palace.

TIPS
Just take airport transfers to the resort, and if you wish, rent a car to see more of the area if you. Otherwise, there is a bus shuttle that operates up and down the hotel corridor in Cancun's hotel row.

Study a guide book before you arrive in Cancun to plan your stay as there are numerous tourist activities to take advantage of. If you just want to sit back and relax, don't bother. There are literally a hundred different sites and activities to participate in so you might want to plan your time spent there.

Plan on taking the bus shuttle up and down the hotel zone if you like to explore, bar hop or shop 'til you drop. The hotel zone is actually about 12 miles long (or more) from top to bottom.....you really can't walk it unless you've trained for a marathon......the hotel zone is big! And, the hotel zone is separate from the town of Cancun. The zona, as it's called, runs for miles along a peninsula shaped like the numer "7" from north to south.

The beach at water's edge is so shallow, drag a plastic lounge chair out in the saltwater with a friend, a book, a drink and enjoy your vacation.

For nightlife, the resort also sponsors an escorted "club crawl" at 11:30 PM to sample late night fun and games.

If you have time, visit Perico's Restaurant in town not far from the hotel, for meals and drinks in a fun, Mexican atmosphere. Just seeing the place is worth the trip....maybe 10 minutes by taxi from the hotel.

Resort is fun.

You may feel slightly crowded on the beach and around the main pool if the resort is full occupancy. But, now there are 3 pools, with one for each of your moods: a fun pool for games; a quiet pool and a sexy pool (for topless/adult fun---remember there are no kids at the resort).

No disco. (A videobar has been added for more expanded entertainment)

A good spot for singles to hang out. Lots of people, lots of variety, a great mix of singles and couples of most ages who all seem to find someone compatible.

No single share program (private rooms are economical)

  Great value for the money.

Mexico is a year-round, world class destination and Cancun has great weather with the Caribbean beach water just about perfect anytime. Summer time is warmer, of course, with hurricane season from late August to early October adding humidity to the weather equation.

  Establish clothing-optional beaches in Cancun.

Add a disco.

THE BOTTOM LINE Big bang for the buck in a great location if you like being in the middle of the action including the singles scene.
