The weekend will conclude on 18 Sept with nude pool games and prizes. Chan Resort,a family run operation, is a unique first for Thailand and southeast Asia as it is a total naturist resort. Located only 1.5 hours drive from Thailand's international airport with easy bus, taxi, and resort pickup service to whisk you to Chan Resort in Pattaya, a major tourist destination.

Conveniently located between Pattaya and Jomtien there is easy access to all major tourist activities. In addition Mr Chan and the new Toyota nine passenger Chan Van offers airport pickup, tours to local tourist venues, and of course return to airport trips.

You must be a registered member of an recognized international naturist/nudist organization to stay there or come as a day visitor. There are 13 nicely furnished air-conditioned rooms, with free WiFi and breakfast, and refrigerators in each spacious room. A maximum number of day visitors are allowed so all will certainly will enjoy a quality naturist holiday.

Mr Chan was Thailand's first resort owner to officially offer a place for naturists to enjoy skinny dipping and nude sunbathing. He has experience with operating naturist resorts, as he is the former owner of the first Chan Resort which he sold and the new owners renamed Chan Twin which also continues to be a naturist resort. He states the gentle manners and quality of attitude that come with being a naturist, is what attracted him to providing a venue for this expanding segment of the tourist market. Mr Chan consulted with Thailand Naturist on the concept, design, and building of Chan Resort to meet recognized naturist standards. www.ChanResort.com Thailand Naturist Association.

This is the first organization in Thailand and southeast Asia devoted to educating, building and promoting naturism in the region. It has been slow and measured growth over the last 3 years to achieve to-date nearly 700 members. Membership continues to grow at a predictable and increasing rate and is comprised of mostly internationals coming from nearly all of Asia, southeast Asia, Europe, and American countries. Thais are also joining at a regular rate.

Our membership data indicates that there are many Asians who have practiced nudity at home but were unaware there was an organization devoted to social naturism in their own backyard, and once they learn of it they quickly join. We also are finding that members come from all major faiths, so it appears that religion is not a hindrance to naturism in Asia. Membership is free to join, but each member application is reviewed before approval.

There is a two step application process that each member applicant must pass. They use this process to ensure that applicants understand Thailand Naturist is devoted to international standard of social naturism and not alternate forms of naturism. If you are planing a visit or vacation to Thailand it is recommend that you join Thailand Naturist as a member, this enables you to access up to date information on the developing growth, details and planned events of naturism in Thailand. www.ThailandNaturist.com

About Thailand Naturist Thai Beaches visited by Thailand Naturists (including myself, my wife and members of Thailand Naturists) Koh Larn - Samaee Beach, south end and Nual Beach east end, accessible from Pattaya Koh Rin - The whole island, with a wonderful beach, accessible from Pattaya Koh Mak - Right around the point from Cococape Resort (www.kohmakcococape.com) going west is Ao Pra beach, 1 kilo long beach, beautiful and deserted. My wife and I have visited all three many times as do many members of Thailand Naturists, for an all over tan, swimming, and even a nude cruise to Koh Rin.

Nude Cruise Boats The Edina out of Pattaya will provide a nude cruise for the day or longer. Our organization has hired the Edina two times and both times had a wonderful cruise. You can bring your own food or a menu is provided. Fast Boats We have hired Fast Boats for trips with the understanding that we are naturists. Some will accommodate and some shy away. If you don't have enough meat on your bum it can be a bumpy ride that you could feel the next day. Also use caution as many of the fast boats do not have night running lights. My wife and I used the services more than once, as have members of Thailand Naturists.

Thailand Naturist Member Clothing Optional Resorts Chan Resort (www.ChanResort.com) is building a new resort, nearby to where he was located. He has consulted Thailand Naturists about the basic design and how it would fit the requirements for naturism. Many Thailand naturism members stayed here. My wife and I have stayed here 3 times for one month each and met some wonderful naturists from England, India, Sweden, Singapore, and Switzerland, in addition to our regular Thailand Naturist member friends. This was the one of the first resorts to work with Thailand Naturist to become a clothing optional resort and help build the network. Chan Twin Resort (www.chantwinresort.webs.com - Previously Chan Resort) Continues the clothing optional polices of the Original Chan Resort.

Thai Bamboo (http://www.thai-bamboo.de/eng/index.html) is dedicated clothing optional resort that is very private and has made many improvements in facilities. They have a lovely pool and grounds and a great host in Mr. Rudy. He will gladly tell you where the nude beach is north of Cha Am.

Other Resorts - we are in a continuing process of face to face research of other appropriate resorts and making arrangements with the owners for accommodating naturist. If we feel a resort does not meet what would be required for naturists, if we don't make a personal visit, and have an understanding with the management we do not recommend it, no matter how good it might seem to be. The management of the resort has to be very committed and comfortable with the naturism concept or it is a no go.

Thailand Naturist Events We have naturist picnics, swimming in mountain lakes, seaside beach barbeques, nude cruises for a day and over a weekend, regular monthly meetings at a Bangkok private spa, and larger semi-annual Meetups. Thai Naturist Organization in Thailand Thailand Naturists (www.Thailandnaturist.com) the only organization committed and working to bring naturism to Thailand. We have achieved solid and continuing growth over the last 3 years and hopefully we will continue to do this. The more people that join as members the stronger we will be, it is free to join. If you are member already tell a friend. You can help naturism bloom in Thailand, join today. - Bruceverett

My wife and I have just returned from a months vacation in Thailand that included visits to the two clothing optional resorts, one lonely 1.5 kilometer beach, a deserted island with a 500 meter white sand beach and crystal clear water, and a nude cruise.

There are places to go nude and get an all over tan in Thailand you just have to have the right information. I get mine from www.Thailandnaturist.com. We stayed at www.ChanResort.com which is clothing optional resort in Pattaya, only an hour and a half from Bangkok.

We made this our headquarters for the month. Chan Resort is a small 9 petite villa resort between Pattaya and Jomtien. It is run by the Chan family, which really cares for the temperament of naturists. You can be nude at the pool around your villa and sometimes going to and from the pool. There will be some folks with clothes on so you have to be a strong naturist. You can not be nude in the eating area or office. You will need your towel or a Pakama (a short Thai sarong) which are nice and cheap and should cost less than 4 dollars. Mr. Chan will usually come out and bring you a nice cold young coconut to drink. A standard American breakfast is served starting at 0800 hrs.

We made a nude cruise to a deserted island from Pattaya on the 23 meter boat Edina. Where the boat anchored it was 10 meters deep water and was as clear as looking in a glass of water. Of course as soon as we were out of the port off came the clothes, some folks hit the sun deck, others the lounge, and a couple just sat in the fighting chairs and soaked up the rays. We swam to the beach we had a nice barbeque, then snorkeled and enjoyed ourselves on the beach.

We also made a day trip to Koh Larn island and visited the clothing optional beach that is developing there. You can take a slow boat or a fast boat to the island and then a Songkaw Taxi to Samae Beach. Once at Samae Beach go to the most southern part away from the resort areas. There are two trees that will give you some shade. You can rent lunge chairs from the resort, they will charge you about 300 baht (less than ten dollars). If you get hungry put on a wrap and go to the resort, place your order and they will bring it to you.

Later in the month we rented a car in Pattaya (brought my own GPS with Thai chip) and drove to www.thai-bamboo.de (we used Google Translate to translate the website from German to English) in Cha Am. It is about 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Bangkok and is an easy drive. We planned to stay at Thai-Bamboo for 4 days and also visit Hua Hin.

Of course we visited the lonely 1.5 kilometer beach in Cha Am. The beach is beautiful and the only place we have found Sand Dollars in Thailand. The water here is much better than the beaches in Pattaya. Thai-Bamboo is out of town so a car is needed or you can arrange with Rudy the owner to get you there and back.

The interesting thing about Blue Village Resort is the wooden hut with a big open shower area. My wife & 2 kids enjoy the shower together. However, beach at Krabi is not suitable for swimming. Just being overcrowded with long tail boat. We took a long tail boat for 1000 Baht to Poda island for a great swim. No nudist but topless. As for Phi Phi, its a haven for divers. We stayed at Patong in Phuket, but Patong beach not so nice. Rented a jeep to Karon for swimming. Spotted alot of tourist that are topless with only a G-string attached. My wife also went topless. We got the intention to go nude, but got to respect Thai.

My wife and I were in Phuket for a holiday and stayed at Bangtao Beach Resort. We found this place which was paradise! A small resort at the northern part of Phuket. Small little boutique type resort with only 10 chalets available. Because of its size, everything turns out to be quite personal where everyone greets you by name. Very friendly, locally operated resort. No swimming pools but a private beach. As we are of Asian descent, we still feel quite shy showing our bodies in front of so many people. This is a perfect place where people are few and far between. My wife went topless, and only wearing a skimpy thong. And I was also in a thong. We even had a massage on the beach. It was a wonderful feeling. Toplessness is very rampant in Thailand as the majority of tourists are from Europe but no nudity. This will be a good resort to go nude. ( we didn't have the guts to.) Very highly recommended.

My wife and I have visited Thailand several times, but we most enjoy going to Phuket. We enjoy the buzz of the commerical area so we usually stay in the Patong Beach area. Although I have not seen any full nudity in Phuket, certainly topless bathing is very very commmon. My wife has gone topless at the beach as well as the hotel pool. In the three trips we have been to Phukte, she has never once been told to cover up. Just use common sence, at the beach or pool, its ok, anywhere else, you have to cover up.

I agree with you about Asia needing a full promoted nudist beach resort. My wife and I certainly hope that day will come soon.

Jean reports:
Koh Samui has a couple of beaches at Chaweng and Lamai. Phangan Island has Haad Rin Beach and Sunrise Beach, just north of Koh Samui. Lighthouse Beach is clothing-optional, too.

Always check with the locals to confirm any of this before dropping your drawers!

Francesco - Italy:
Maiton Island (private island) is near Phuket (30 minutes by fast boat). There is only one resort there with deserted beaches off the property, now managed by an international company. Another place in Thailand is Bulon Lae in the Tarutao Islands between Malaysia and the Thailand sea.

Charles - France
I have been to Thailand many times and several times to Phuket for vacation. As I cannot stand a bathing suit to stay on a beach, I have been looking for deserted beaches where naturism could be possible. So, I know where one (beach) where this is possible. You just need ground transportation to get there, no boat. During the week, there are very few Thai people there, you might see some, but they don't care about you if you don't wear a bathing suit. Just beware of theives...there is a village in the vicinity....two times, the mirrors on my motorbike disappeared.

I would like this beach to stay clean and quiet, so I hesitate to say where it is. But, in another way, it would be good that this island (Phuket) gets started with naturism, and when you are the only nude on the beach, you don't feel so good regarding local people. So this beach (on Phuket) is Mai Kao Beach and is located at the north west top of the island. We could make this place a peaceful paradise for nudist. I have not been there for a couple of years so the place may have changed since my last visit.
